Nazi Literature in the Americas by Roberto Bolano
Presented as a collection of biographies on the literary right-wingers of the Americas, Bolano’s novel reads with pleasant fluidity. Through the lives of these several American pseudo-Nazis, one learns of the ties that bond them, both in relation to one another and in terms of personal history and core beliefs. Nearly all of Bolano’s characters are self-educated social deterrents deeply attracted to power. However, the subjects are written with such vitality that one learns in few pages that these people are not monsters, they are just that, people.
